Create unique works of jewellery and adornment from natural objects, such as seeds and nuts. Sultana will guide you in basic jewellery techniques to make something intensely personal in this very satisfying tactile activity. Sultana proves that jewellery does not have to be made from ‘precious’ materials; the crafting of adornment is what makes it precious.
Suitable for children and adults ages 12 and above.
Sultana Shamshi is a prolific and established artist and jeweller. Originally from Bombay, she has lived and worked in Perth for several decades. She says: Using natural materials and found objects I try to keep my jewellery practice sustainable, thought provoking, and reflective of the landscape of Western Australia.
Sultana is known for bringing people together, sharing stories of family and culture, often combining her craft and culinary practices.
