We are excited to welcome Ricky Arnold to The Heritage Collective as our Arts and Culture coordinator. Ricky has 30 years professional experience working across arts and community organisations in Perth. Read on to learn more about Ricky’s vast experience.
Ricky arrived in Western Australia from the UK in 1991 armed with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Animation and a Post-Graduate Certificate of Education. He began his career teaching, and working in many community arts-based projects in the public space including mosaic water playgrounds in Mt Lawley’s Hyde Park and the design of Dinosaur Park in Melville. This led to roles at the Art Gallery of WA, and arts programming for the City of Perth.
Ricky held various roles within the State Government’s Department of Culture and the Arts leading the distribution of arts funding annually to arts organisations, artists and projects across the State.
He worked for DADAA (2014-22) developing the Old Boys School building in Fremantle, creating disability arts programming and access services.
He has also organised the National Trust of Western Australia’s INSPIRE Writer in Residence program, placing writers in heritage sites around Perth to explore research and history. He has been on the board of arts companies: STRUT Dance and Sensorium Theatre, supporting their development to achieve national recognition through recent multiyear funding commitments.
Ricky’s passion is to see the arts make a major change in people’s lives, through community participation and well-being.
Welcome Ricky!
