The Heritage Collective and Curtin Heritage Living in Cottesloe are on a mission to reduce waste through clever and creative methods and you are invited to join us!
Participate in a series of inspiring activities and events focused on creative recycling and upcycling. From workshops to informative talks, there is something for everyone.
All events are free to attend, thanks to a WasteSorted grant from the Waste Authority.
WHAT IS THE FESTIVAL OF RE-STYLE, RE-USE & RE-CREATION?
The community is invited to a program of hands-on workshops, interactive talks, clothing swaps, repair labs, films, and upcycling challenges. This exciting initiative aims to reduce waste and give new life to materials that might otherwise end up in landfills.
Everyone is invited – the public, staff, clients and family members.
WHERE: The Heritage Collective, Curtin Heritage Living and other venues.
WHEN: Starting 27 March, ahead of UN International Zero Waste Day on 30 March and continuing through to 25 August 2025.
HOW MUCH? Activities and events in the R-R-R Festival program are completely FREE thanks to a WasteSorted grant from the Waste Authority WA.

Highlights include:
♻ Learn with LOOP: Creative solutions to textile waste and other materials (3 April)
A thought-provoking interactive discussion on textile waste and innovative reuse strategies. Led by LOOP with Town of Cottesloe.
♻ Makers’ & Menders Club (4 April / 2 May / 6 June)
Bring your portable project and share their stories around the table. Led by Christina Paul.
♻ Repair Lab & Stash Swap (5 July)
Don’t ditch it—fix it! Repair stations and a fabric/material swap for creative makers. Led by volunteers.
♻ Upcycling Workshop for Kids & Teens (11 July)
Transform old jeans into a stylish and functional tote bag. Led by Madelyn Sumner & LOOP Upcycling.
♻ Fix, Maintain & Master a Knitting Machine (August 9–10)
Revive disused knitting machines with expert guidance. Led by Maker&Smith.
♻ Clothing Exchange (28 May)
Trade your pre-loved quality clothing, shoes, and accessories. Led by Sal-vage.
♻ Advances in Circular Fashion in WA (12 July)
Exposé: state of the art innovations are happening in your state. Led by Molly Ryan.
♻ WasteSorted Exhibition (August 21–25) – A visual celebration of sustainability, innovation, and community-led waste reduction.
