Enjoy a relaxed, hands-on ceramic workshop guided by ceramicist Rebekah Clark, exploring botanical impressions in clay. Explore slab-rolling techniques and learn how to press leaves, flowers, stems and other botanicals into clay to capture their natural textures and details. No previous ceramic experience is necessary.
WHAT YOU’LL MAKE
Create a one-of-a-kind platter, plate or bowl, adorned with your own arrangement of botanical impressions. A beautiful, functional ceramic piece to treasure or gift this Christmas, inspired by the natural world. You’ll bring your impressions to life with an underglaze colour of your choosing, and Rebekah will do the rest, including glazing and firing.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
This small class includes one-on-one tuition, stoneware clay, use of ceramic tools, guidance in slab-rolling and botanical impression techniques, glaze examples to choose from, bisque firing and final glaze firing. Please allow up to 4 weeks for your pieces to be completed and ready for collection from The Heritage Collective.
A FEW THINGS TO KNOW
Tea, coffee and morning tea will be provided. Wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting clay on, or bring an apron. Please trim your nails and leave jewellery at home — this is a hands-on class!
