Ross Potter, Artist In Residence.

Our artist in residence, Ross Potter, is a Kamilaroi man and a professional artist based in Walyalup, also known as Fremantle. His artwork is distinguished by intricate, large-scale drawings created with meticulous pencil work on paper. Ross has a unique ability to magnify microscopic features, drawing attention to the often-overlooked aspects of reality while weaving compelling narratives about the richness of everyday life.
One of his most celebrated pieces is a life-sized rendering of Tricia, a beloved elephant who lived at Perth Zoo. This remarkable artwork was created during the Fremantle Arts Centre’s exhibition Animaze: Amazing Animals for Kids in 2018 and is now permanently displayed at Dunsborough’s Yungarra Gallery.
Ross has exhibited his work in venues such as the Fremantle Biennale and the Boola Bardip WA Museum and has held numerous artist residencies, including in Cossack, Margaret River, and Herhùsid in Iceland. Through his art, Ross not only celebrates his cultural heritage but also invites viewers to experience the world from his unique perspective.
